Yonex ASTROX 100 ZZ racket is built using with Rotational Generator System. The counter balanced head adapts to each shot, helping you to control the drive and attack the opposition with increased acceleration, steeper angle and power on the smash.
This is one of the Yonex rackets from Astrox series that has adopted full frame NAMD, which doubles the contact time with the shuttles, then frame regains to its original position faster than any rackets in the world.
Astrox 100 ZZ was launched and used by its ambassador Viktor Axelsen during the 2020 All England Tournament where Axelsen won the men's singles title.
Astrox 100 ZZ uses Namd, a new revolutionary graphite material utilized throughout the frame to produce more flex with a faster snapback, unleashing dramatic steep power.
This racket is also built with a Hyper Slim Shaft of 6.2mm (that's world's slimmest Yonex shaft ever!).
This racket helps you to lead the attack with increased power and control.
- Smash power up 7.1% (The difference between the initial speed and the final speed is minimized in order to be launched strongly)
- Smash angle is 2.3° steeper *Tested by Yonex (Measurements by swing robot)

Namd
Astrox 100 ZZ uses NAMD in its entire frame from head to body of racket. NAMD is world’s-first, new dimension graphite material which greatly improves the adhesion of the graphite fibers and resin by attaching nano material directly to the graphite fiber. This in turn helps double up contact time with the shuttle, resulting in explosive shots as the racket returns from flexed to straight at the end of the swing, this happens instantly. In high performance rackets, it is common to combine nanomaterials with resin that connects graphite fibers, but in Namd, nanomaterials are directly adhered to the graphite fibers and resin is greatly increased. This major improvement produces a shaft that flexes and stores energy, delivering explosive force on impact with the shuttle. |
Hyper Slim Shaft 6.2mm Yonex's slimmest shaft ever features a solid core with revolutionary material. Namd provides greater flex and strapback performance at the same time reduces air resistance for faster swings. Designed to slice through the air, generating speedy power |
Energy Boost Cap/PLUS Uniquely shaped cap which maximizes shaft performance. The front allows the shaft to flex, while the sides arch-shaped curve stabilizes the racket face by preventing the shaft from twisting. This design ensures the maximum effect of “Namd (more flex and faster kick-back graphite material)” to increase control. |
Isometric |
New Grommet Pattern The single-pass grommet hole construction provides more grommet holes for a more high-performance stringing pattern. |
Solid Feel Core The built-in solid feel core cuts harmful miscellaneous vibration at impact. Solid feel core is carried in all racquets manufactured in Japan. |
Aero + Box Frame Combines solid hitting feel and quick swing. |
New Build-in T-Joint |
Nanometric
NANOMETRIC* improves the bonding strength between the carbon fibres enabling us to take racquet shaft construction to another level. By reducing the amount of carbon in the shaft to make it 60%* thinner than a conventional racquet whilst retaining stiffness, YONEX has created a revolutionary lightweight racquet with lightening head speed and control. *NANOMETRIC is the new material which applies the NANOALLOYTM Technology of Toray Industries, Inc. |
Black Micro Core
Used for the first time in Yonex badminton rackets, BLACK MICRO CORE is a stiff, high-density vibration-dampening material equipped into the upper part of the racket frame, letting players hit with solid feeling and power. |

The sad thing though was that my Tantrum 200 was broken during our Independence Championship. Not by me but by one of my young players who asked to try out my racket, Anyway the other 2 are still okay."
